Rachel Boesem, a linebacker for the Newell Irrigators, plays football for her high school team with the same jersey number (64) as her late brother, Donovan.

Rachel and Donovan were both biological and adoptive siblings suffering from fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). He struggled with undiagnosed schizophrenia from the FASD brain damage and hanged himself in the family barn in May 2013. "We've lost two children...I can't lose another one. Realistically, we will bury more kids and I can say that. But then my brain goes, I can't do that," his mother Nora Boesem said.

A symptom of Rachel's prenatal meth exposure is a high pain tolerance, which helps her be strong on the field when she competes as the only girl on the team.
